Former Netegrity Executive Joins dynaTrace as VP of Worldwide Marketing
20+ year industry veteran joins fast-growing Continuous Application Performance Management leader
BOSTON — dynaTrace software, the leader in continuous application performance management across the application lifecycle for business critical Java and .NET applications, today announced that the former VP of Marketing for Boston-based Netegrity (acquired by CA in 2004), Bill Bartow, has joined dynaTrace as Vice President of Worldwide Marketing. Building on the rapid revenue and customer growth dynaTrace has achieved over the past three years, Bartow will be responsible for all aspects of marketing to increase company visibility, better communicate product value and elevate brand awareness worldwide.
“I am very pleased that Bill Bartow has joined us to lead our worldwide marketing efforts. Despite a challenging economic climate, we are coming off a record year having doubled in revenue and new name accounts,” said John Van Siclen, CEO of dynaTrace. “With an industry-leading product and over 100 world-class customers now using dynaTrace, it’s time to take our messaging and visibility to the next level. Bill’s background at Powersoft, Sybase and Netegrity, make him an ideal leader for our marketing programs on both sides of the Atlantic.”
Most recently Bartow has been VP of Marketing and Product Management for database security provider Tizor Systems. Bartow was instrumental in establishing Tizor as a leader in database monitoring and helping grow revenue over 300%. Prior to Tizor, Bartow spent over five years at Netegrity, serving as VP of Marketing, Engineering and Product Management, during which Netegrity’s revenues grew ten-fold to over $90 million, leading ultimately to acquisition by CA. At CA, Bartow served as Senior Vice President of its industry-leading Identity and Access Management product lines.
During Bartow’s 20-plus years of software industry experience he has held marketing, product management and engineering management positions giving him unique insight into the challenges application developers have when rolling out and managing business critical applications. Before CA/Netegrity, Bartow served as VP of Marketing and Engineering at Sybase/Powersoft Corporation, and held senior product positions at Lotus Development, Progress Software and Digital.
“dynaTrace is one of those rare companies that have the right product, at the right time, for a market that’s undergoing disruptive change,” said Bartow. “With the rapid shift to new service-based architectures, agile development methodologies and virtualization in test and production, APM requirements are changing. I am very excited to join the dynaTrace team, and look forward to expanding the awareness of the company’s products and value to the market.”
