Architecture and Technology
Nolio Automation Center delivers application-centric automation that:
Nolio Automation Center is based on a distributed architecture that allows each application component to communicate with other application components, regardless of their physical location. In this manner, data center teams can centrally manage automated workflows across an unlimited number of application tiers and instances, multiple network segments, and many data centers simultaneously. Nolio's built-in redundancy ensures uninterrupted workflow execution for ongoing application service continuity.
In addition to Web applications managed by corporate IT teams, Nolio Automation Center supports cutting-edge technologies including SaaS applications, cloud computing (Amazon EC2), virtualization (VMware, Sun VirtualBox, Citrix Xen, and more), and the Agile development process.
Architecture and TechnologyNolio Automation Center comprises three main components:

Nolio Automation Center is built to support applications deployed in the most complex, evolving enterprise data centers.
How It WorksNolio Automation Center is purposefully architected so that a person who is not specialized in the application is able to initiate automated process across all environments. This is achieved using a two-step design process. In the first step the user, who specializes in the application, designs the processes. In the second step, a non-specialized operator maps these processes into the actual environment, such as a data center computer network.
The application process automation is controlled by a management server, which enables automated tasks to be managed, verified, and tracked from a single location. From a push of a button, local agents automatically run the specific tasks defined by the central management server-all without any application changes required. This flexible environment allows teams to automate all application workflows regardless of application type or IT environment.
Nolio provides detailed reports for the data center team, as well as executive reports for management. As such, you'll always know who did what and where with the application, and control permissions on whom can make changes. This visibility into changes helps you understand and optimize productivity. For example, you can see the number of features that were deployed, rollbacks, recovery time, etc.
Nolio Automation Center in Action: Reducing Costs, Increasing Reliability
Below is a real-life example highlighting one data center team's productivity benefits from managing application service processes for 15 applications, across 100 servers, which are distributed across eight global data centers.
- Automates complex application tasks across heterogeneous server types.
- Understands application architecture and logic.
- Simplifies automation with pre-packaged libraries of application actions.

Architecture and TechnologyNolio Automation Center comprises three main components:
- Nolio DevStudio provides the visual interface for easily creating granular application service workflows and processes. Using its intuitive visual interface, teams can quickly automate any application service task-deployment and release, change and configuration, troubleshooting, incident and problem resolution, and recovery and emergency procedures.
- Nolio Automation Manager centralizes execution of automation workflows for all application service activity. Its repository includes all processes, workflows, reports, user management, and permissions management. Automation execution is controlled from this single point allowing you to see real-time automation tasks as well as historical changes.
- Nolio Agents are installed on all data center servers, for local execution of application service automation tasks. These light-weight agents are easy to maintain without adding latency, overhead, or risk to the application itself.
